Jagannath University (JnU) Authority will start online classes next week. This information was given through a notification signed by registrar Engineer Ohiduzzaman on the university website on Thursday.
This notification is said, 'An online meeting was held at Jagannath University on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Mizanur Rahman. In that meeting, A number of decisions were made at the meeting regarding online classes.
The decisions are:
All the departments and institutes of the university will be started online classes within the next week. Online class videos should also be uploaded on the Youtube/Facebook platform so that students can watch it at any time; Due to coronavirus (COVID - 19 Pandemic) situation, the semester that was running before the university closed, the incomplete theoretical classes of the semester and the theoretical classes of the last semester of 4th year and Masters - must be completed by August 2020. Theoretical classes for the next semester are to start from September 2020; Each department and institute, through its own academic committee meeting, will determine the class routine and other issues related to taking classes and will make arrangements to inform the students; No midterm exams can be taken online. However, the assignment can be taken online; After completion of Honors 4th year class, Masters 1st semester class has to start; The concerned Chairman / Director will take care of the students' thesis submission and internship through the Academic Committee; When the On-Campus class starts, 3 (three) weeks will be given for the Refreshment Class and then the practical class will also be taken; The Department of Networking and IT will provide technical / IT support for taking online classes, including building platforms; The meeting called upon the Ministry of Education of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to expedite the implementation of all the steps taken to make online classes accessible to every student.
